Multistream exchangers offer the possibility of regulating the temperature of different fluids with different flow rates, pressure drops and different pressure and temperature conditions, simultaneously in the same interstage exchanger. The application is very useful for example in the cooling of hydrogen flows coming from different gas compression stages in hydrogen refueling stations. This is made possible by the complete design freedom of the heat transfer microchannels on the PCHE exchanger plates, thanks to the special chemical chemical etching process.
